MICHAEL KEATON as Beetlejuice in Warner Bros. Pictures’ comedy, “BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.

Warner Bros. has just released the last trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which finally gives us a glimpse into what the plot of the film will actually be.

In it, we see Winona Ryder’s Lydia Deetz seeking to rescue her daughter, Astrid (Jenna Ortega) from the Afterlife. Lydia is desperate. So desperate, in fact, that she calls on Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) to help her. Unsurprisingly, her decision doesn’t fully pan out the way she hopes. We also get a better glimpse of the real apparent bad guys in the film, the afterlife denizens played by Monica Belluci and Willem Dafoe, as well as Justin Theroux’s still-breathing character, who seems like quite the fop.

Last but not least, it seems that Beetlejuice also drops an F-bomb. Exciting?

Here’s the official synopsis for the sequel:

Beetlejuice is back!  After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River.  Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened.  With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is directed by Tim Burton with a script by Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith. It premieres in theaters on September 6, 2024.
